Description

Super cool shiny silver Chrome Electric Iron by Rex Ray of Missouri, USA. Atomic era, heavy iron from the 1950s with a Bakelite handle. It would be a abfab home decor piece on a book shelf as a bookend, as a door stop or just on a shelf with your other Electric collectibles.

No cord but the original was a big whopper so best on a shelf w/out. Have no idea if really works but if it did it would be RAD. Nice clean - pristine - ironing surface.

Rex Ray, USA
8 1/2" T X 4" W
Nearly 3 1/2 lbs - heavy weight

It sits back on the plug adapter at an angle so if you used it as a bookend or door stop it would tilt back slightly (not flush), see 2nd photo.

This iron shows signs of age with very teeny raised pitting dots in the chrome and some very fine scratching but looks nice and shiny overall. You could work on it and possibly remove some of the pitting but personally I like to leave some signs of age. There aren't any deep scratches or dents. The bakelite handle has a hairline crack on one side but it is intact and sturdy, not coming apart. It's just a freakin cool iron.
